Key Stage 1 phonics provision

Phonics is taught on a daily basis to all children, beginning in Reception through to Year 2 and for those children who need additional teaching in Key Stage 2.

St Luke’s Primary School follows the Letters and Sounds Phonics Programme which is introduced the Reception class. The children are taught through a programme of synthetic phonics, which is delivered daily.

Phonics teaching is differentiated and taught through both whole class and group work to meet all the children’s needs.
